Admission Requirements Into FUOYE (UTME Candidates)
So now that you know the FUOYE cutoff mark, what about other qualifications to gain admission?
To apply through UTME, you require:
1. Use FUOYE as your first choice in JAMB.
2. Get at least 160 on your UTME.
3. Make sure you get up to 5 credits in your O-level. They should be English language and mathematics.
4. Then you head to the Jamb portal and submit your scores.
5. Once the online screening of FUOYE is opened, make sure that you open an account.
There are special requirements in some courses. For example:
– Engineering courses require physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
– Medicine/Nursing: You must have high grades in biology and chemistry.
FUOYE Cut Off Mark for Direct Entry Candidates
It is different when you are using Direct Entry (DE). You do not need to write JAMB UTME, but you need to meet the FUOYE cutoff mark as a DE student.
The following are the requirements:
1. You must also have at least two A-level passes, ND, NCE, or HND in a related subject.
2. You must also have at least five credit O-levels, including English and math.
3. Your DE application is required to be submitted through JAMB with FUOYE being your 1st choice.
4. You will also be required to participate in the screening exercise of FUOYE.
The Direct Entry FUOYE cutoff mark is not publicly known all the time, but your overall performance in academics ought to be good. To stand a chance, especially with competitive courses, you will need high grades on your diploma or A-levels.
Conclusion
The initial thing you have to do towards admission is to be aware of your FUOYE cutoff mark. It tells you that you are eligible to apply and establishes a vision of what to look forward to. Keep in mind, however, that there is more to getting admitted than just hitting that number.
When choosing your course, you will need persuasive O-levels, a decent aggregate score, and a little bit of planning. FUOYE is not that bad, but with the right preparation you will pass.
As long as you score higher than the FUOYE cutoff mark and pass all the procedures, you are already on the right track.
Good luck!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the FUOYE overall cutoff point?
The overall JAMB cut-off mark of FUOYE is 160 and above which means that an applicant with a UTME mark of 160 and above can request to be considered in the Post-UTME screening. However, competitive courses may require increased scores in order to be accepted.
2. Do FUOYE and other courses have cut-off marks that vary?
Yes. The minimum mark is 160, although professional and competitive courses like medicine, law, nursing, and engineering may well have much higher departmental cut-off marks, in the range of 200 and above.
3. What is the departmental cut-off mark of FUOYE?
After any screening exercise, departmental cut-off marks are often established. They are based on factors such as number of applicants, general performance in JAMB / Post-UTME and quota per course.
4. Can someone with a score of 160 have a possibility of being accepted?
Yes, technically, that is, provided you are qualified. But as a matter of fact, it all lies in your course. Getting only the lowest level would suffice in courses that are not so competitive, but in the case of hotcake programs, you have to score pretty high to be competitive.
5. Do the cut off mark of FUOYE vary on a yearly basis?
Absolutely. These cut-off points are not fixed and can vary based on the overall performance of the students in the UTME that year.
6. Does FUOYE use Post-UTME or JAMB only?
Both matter. FUOYE adds your JAMB results and your Post-UTME results to decide on admissions. This is why if you score high in both exams, you are better off.
7. Can I still be admitted without meeting the departmental cut-off?
In some cases, yes. FUOYE can offer you a course with a reduced cut-off (this is occasionally termed “transfer of admission”). Nevertheless, it is always better to target higher than the desired minimum of the course you choose.
